Locational Awareness

Overview

Locational Awareness provides continuous, real-time visibility of personnel across the facility using an integrated CheckPoint tracking system. It enables precise monitoring of individual movements, zone occupancy, and historical location data through a unified software and hardware architecture.

CheckPoint Tracking System

The system is built around strategically positioned CheckPoint Readers deployed across key operational areas, including access points, bridge crossings, and main walkways. These devices continuously capture personnel detection events and transmit them to the central ePOB/ePOS platform for processing.

Real-Time Movement Detection

As personnel move through the facility, the system automatically detects transitions between zones. Each movement event is processed instantly, ensuring that personnel counts and location data remain continuously up to date across all monitored areas.

Zone Occupancy Monitoring

The facility is divided into defined detection zones aligned with operational layout and safety requirements. The system maintains live occupancy counts for each zone, providing an always-current view of personnel distribution across the site.

Last Known Location

The Last Known Location function records the most recent detected position of each individual at POB equipment. This ensures that a reliable reference point is always available for personnel who are not actively within a detected zone.

Real-Time and Historical Visibility

Operators have immediate access to live personnel locations across the facility. In addition, the system maintains a complete movement history, enabling reconstruction of personnel movement paths for operational review, mustering support, and incident response.

Graphical Interface and Zone Mapping

All location data is presented through a graphical user interface based on the facility layout. Detailed floor plans define detection zones and monitoring regions, with real-time visual indicators showing current personnel distribution and status within each zone.

Continuous Data Processing

CheckPoint Readers provide uninterrupted data capture, feeding directly into the ePOB/ePOS system. This ensures that all location updates are processed in real time, maintaining an accurate and consistent operational picture.

Operational Control

By combining live tracking, zone occupancy data, and historical location information, the system provides precise control and awareness of workforce movements across the entire facility, supporting structured operational oversight.
